Teresa George oversees brand integration and sponsorship for the Academy of Country Music, in addition to heading her own entertainment marketing consulting firm, Cornerstone Communications. In the eight years she has been associated with the Academy, Teresa has developed corporate partnerships for the organization, including Dr Pepper, Wal-Mart, The Home Depot, Cover Girl, Ford and Neutrogena. She helped create The Home Depot Humanitarian Award, a prestigious honor bestowed on a philanthropic-minded country artist each year during the televised awards show. She also works closely with CBS Television, GAC and Westwood One to further the Academy's television and radio impact, and she has worked with the Academy's board of directors to improve the organization's brand and create a new logo and physical award. Teresa, a Texas native, has 15 years experience in entertainment marketing and communications in the U.S., while also including travel in Europe and Australia. She helped spearhead the largest consumer research study on music ever conducted in the U.S. and has written television scripts, was creative consultant and associate producer on several television shows, has written hundreds of magazine articles and has authored two published books on country music. She holds a B.A. in journalism and an M.A. in communications. Among her volunteer work, she serves on the board of directors of Cumberland Heights, one of the country's leading alcohol and drug treatment centers, and is an alumnus of Leadership Music.
