Encino, CA (April 2, 2014) – The Academy of Country Music and dick clark productions are revealing fan engagement initiatives for the 49th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards. Fans will have multiple ways to interact and participate in the events leading up to and throughout the broadcast of the ACM Awards on Sunday, April 6 (8:00 – 11:00 PM, live ET/delayed PT) on the CBS Television Network. Music fans are encouraged to check out the following interactive elements to participate in the ACM Awards:
- Fan Voting for Entertainer of the Year and ACM New Artist of the Year –Fans have the power to choose the Academy of Country Music's Entertainer of the Year powered by the Ram Truck brand, and ACM New Artist of the Year presented by Kohl’s, by logging on to www.VoteACM.com or via text message using a number that will be announced during the telecast. Fans are allowed to vote once per day and can cast their vote for ACM New Artist of the Year through the start of the live broadcast and Entertainer of the Year into the third hour of the show.
- ACM Social Media Correspondent: Jamie Lynn Spears will be joining the ACM in Vegas as the official social media correspondent for the Academy. Spears has made headway in Nashville with the release of her critically acclaimed first single, “How Could I Want More,” which she co-wrote with Rivers Rutherford. Fans will be able to see her updates from events throughout The Week Vegas Goes Country® on ACMawards.com or can watch real-time updates by following her on Twitter @jamielynnspears.
- ACM Awards on Facebook, Twitter and More: Fans can follow the ACM on Twitter and Instagram (@ACMawards) and on Facebook (www.facebook.com/AcademyofCountryMusic) for behind-the-scenes photos and video interviews from rehearsals, red carpet arrivals and all of the events during The Week Vegas Goes Country ®. Fans are encouraged to join the conversation using the official hashtag of the ACM Awards, #ACMs.
- ACM Hot Spots: Fans can get exclusive access to the Kohl’s Vine 360 on the ACM Awards Red Carpet – where celebrities can pose for an aerial camera that captures a 360 degree view of their outfit. The short video clips are recorded on Vine and published automatically across the ACM Vine account (@ACMawards). Fans will also be given exclusive access to Kohl’s and Yahoo Twitter Mirrors. These selfie-stations will be backstage allowing celebrities to take selfies as they are hanging out backstage during the ACM Awards. These will be tweeted via the official ACM Twitter account (@ACMawards).
- ACMawards.com: Fans can visit www.ACMawards.comfor real time editorial coverage throughout the course of the ACM Awards recapping memorable show moments and highlighting fashion, performances and social activity. The site will host a gallery of GIFs created in real-time throughout the course of the red carpet and show.
- Flat Blake and Flat Luke: No matter where fans are located, they can download their own “Flat Blake” and “Flat Luke” via www.ACMawards.com to photograph themselves and tweet their photos. Flat Blake and Flat Luke can travel with fans on vacation, while grocery shopping, running errands, to school, wherever. Last year, Flat “Bluke” even appeared in the White House Briefing Room. Tag photos on Twitter and Instagram with #FlatBluke and #ACMs.
- ACM Awards App: The official mobile app of the Academy of Country Music powered by Aloompa is available now for iPhone and Android users. The free app gives fans everything they need to know about the Academy of Country Music and the ACM Awards, including a schedule for all events throughout The Week Vegas Goes Country®, custom camera filters - including Blake Shelton and Luke Bryan, videos and the most up to date information. iPhone users can download the app HERE and Android users can download the app on Google Play HERE.
- ACM Tempo: The Academy’s quarterly professional member magazine is also available for the 225,000 plus ACM A-List members online. A digital flipbook version of the magazine is shared through a private link exclusively with fans who sign up for the FREE A-List.
- Eric Church’s “San Destino Rising”: “San Destino Rising” is a video series that serves as a visual reflection of Church’s fourth studio record, The Outsiders. Fans can view the series at http://sandestinorising.com/ . A general theme of the series and line from Church’s song "Devil, Devil (Prelude: Princess of Darkness)" is “Be careful what you wish for, you might get what you don’t need”. Church’s music video for his single “Give Me Back My Hometown” starts off the series with a brief look at the townspeople of San Destino and the problems they face day-to-day.
