ONE NIGHT, ONE STAGE – ALL STARS!
The Academy’s post-awards show, no-holds-barred musical tradition continued to live up to its name in 2009. This year’s All-Star Jam kicked off in the MGM Grand Garden Marquee Ballroom just moments after the last trophy was handed out, and it rocked well into the night. More than 30 artists made their way onto the All-Star Jam stage.
Emcee Shawn Parr shared hosting duties with ACM Executive Director Bob Romeo and the “Dean Martin of Country Music,” John Rich. As always, Rich brought his own brand of humor to the stage.
Making her first appearance as the newly minted ACM Entertainer of the Year, Carrie Underwood kicked off her shoes and had a blast running through a few of her hits. Song of the Year winners Jamey Johnson and James Otto also took the stage for separate sets, as did Album of the Year winner Taylor Swift. Single of the Year winner Trace Adkins, fresh from his touching ACM Awards performance in honor of the Wounded Warrior Project, brought along Lt. Andrew Kinard to the party.
Taking the night into overdrive and turning in blistering sets were Kenny Chesney, Jack Ingram, Lady Antebellum and Top New Vocal Duo/Group Zac Brown Band, proving why they are four of the hottest acts in country.
And the fun didn’t stop there. Also gracing the stage were Heidi Newfield, Jason Aldean, Randy Houser, Luke Bryan, Emerson Drive, Trailer Choir, Jimmy Wayne, Oak Ridge Boys, Gloriana, Eli Young Band, The Lost Trailers, Joey + Rory, Randy Rogers Band, Keith Anderson, 2-Foot Fred, Mustang Sally, Krista Marie, David Nail, Ira Dean, Jessica Atkins, Tony Tyler and the All-Star Jam Band.
The All-Star Jam sells out fast every year for good reason: It’s One Night, One Stage, All Stars!
