ENCINO, CA (January 8, 2013) – Superstars Blake Shelton and Luke Bryan will co-host Country Music’s Party of the Year®, the 48th ANNUAL ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS, honoring country music’s best and introducing the industry’s hottest emerging talent, broadcast LIVE from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas Sunday, April 7th, 2013 at 8:00 PM live ET/delayed PT on the CBS Television Network. The show is produced by dick clark productions, inc.  This year’s show will mark reigning ACM Male Vocalist of the Year Shelton’s third consecutive turn hosting the Awards and Bryan’s first time hosting a LIVE televised event.

 

Brad Paisley will host the 3rd Annual ACM Fan Jam, taking place at The Orleans Arena Sunday, April 7th, 2013. This live remote location gives country music lovers the ultimate fan-pass to be a part of the 48th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards! Throughout the three-hour Awards telecast from MGM Grand, there will be live ACM Fan Jam performances, via remote from The Orleans Arena, by Brad Paisley and other top-tier music acts.  The ACM Fan Jam continues after the Awards telecast ends, with performances by Brad Paisley and friends. Details and other participating talent will be announced soon but fans can tweet to unlock a special message from Brad, delivered to them immediately after they tweet, by visiting the ACM Social Splash page at www.ACMsocialsplash.com.  

 

As they have done for the past four years, the Academy and dick clark productions will once again tape an all-star concert TV special Monday, April 8, 2013 at 7:00 PM at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, featuring today’s top country acts and more. Talent announcements are forthcoming. The special will air later on CBS and ticket proceeds will benefit ACM Lifting Lives.

 

Country music fans “unlocked” this press release in the first-ever ACM “Tweet to Unlock” promotion, wherein fans were invited to send a minimum of 25,000 tweets before the date and host information would be released to the public.  Fans were alerted to the opportunity on Friday, and reached the 25,000 threshold in just less than 4 days.

 

The Academy will announce its full schedule of The Week Vegas Goes Country events in the coming weeks, which will include The ACM Experience, to be held April 5-7, 2013 at The Orleans Hotel and Casino.  In its sophomore year, this free, family-friendly open-to-the-public country music lifestyle event will once again feature LIVE country music performances, interactive games and dance competitions, the ACM Expo a shopper’s paradise and country marketplace, and much, much more to be announced.

Winners Announced For The 47th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards

LAS VEGAS, NV (April 1, 2012) – Winners have been announced for the 47th ANNUAL ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS, a star-studded ceremony broadcast LIVE tonight on the CBS Television Network from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Fans named Taylor Swift, Entertainer of the Year, the evening’s biggest honor. This is the second consecutive year that Taylor Swift has been named Entertainer of the Year. This year marked a record breaking year with nearly one million fans casting their vote for Entertainer of the Year and New Artist of the Year categories, combined.

Swift is the youngest and seventh solo female to take the award in the 40 year history of this category; previous winners include Loretta Lynn in 1975, Dolly Parton in 1977, Barbara Mandrell in 1980, Reba in 1994, Shania Twain in 1999, Dixie Chicks in 2000 and Carrie Underwood in 2008 and 2009.

Miranda Lambert won Female Vocalist of the Year and Blake Shelton won Male Vocalist of the Year.  This is Lambert’s third consecutive win as Female Vocalist of the Year and Shelton’s first win as Male Vocalist of the Year.

Lambert also took the prize for Album of the Year, making her the only female to have three consecutive albums win the category. Lambert previously won Album of the Year in 2007 for Crazy Ex-Girlfriend and in 2009 for REVOLUTION.

For the third consecutive year, Lady Antebellum won Vocal Group of the Year. Thompson Square won Vocal Duo of the Year, their first ACM Award win. Scotty McCreery was honored as New Artist of the Year in tonight’s broadcast, marking his first ACM win in the fan-voted category.

Jason Aldean and Kelly Clarkson won two awards tonight in the categories of Single Record of the Year and Vocal Event of the Year for their song “Don’t You Wanna Stay.” This marks a first win in both categories for Aldean and Clarkson.

Artists Lee Brice, Kelly Clarkson, Eli Young Band, Scotty McCreery and Thompson Square received their first time Academy of Country Music Awards.

Tonight, the Academy of Country Music sold-out two of the largest arenas in Las Vegas, the MGM Grand Garden Arena for the 47th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards hosted by Reba and Blake Shelton, and the Mandalay Bay Events Center for the 2nd Annual ACM Fan Jam, hosted by the Zac Brown Band.

Reba & Blake Shelton host the 47th ACM Awards on April 1st

With Reba and Blake Shelton in the house, there is no doubt the April’s Fools pranks will be flying fast and furiously inside the MGM Grand Garden Arena, you’re invited to join in the fun….if you dare!

Country Music’s Party of the Year®, the 47th ANNUAL ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS, will be broadcast LIVE from Las Vegas on Sunday, April 1st at 8:00 PM live ET/delayed PT on the CBS . The show is produced by dick clark productions and will be hosted for the second consecutive year by Reba and Blake. Nominees, performers and presenters will be announced soon. Tickets go onsale beginning Jan. 20th for ACM A-List members and Jan. 25th for the general public.

In addition to the show at the MGM, the 2nd Annual ACM Fan Jam, hosted by Zac Brown Band, will take place once again at the Mandalay Bay Events Center Sunday, April 1st. This live remote location gives country music lovers the ultimate fan-pass to be part of the 47th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards! Throughout the three-hour Awards telecast from the MGM Grand Garden Arena, there will be live ACM Fan Jam performances, via remote, from the Mandalay Bay Events Center by Zac Brown Band and other top-tier music acts, to be announced at a later date. The ACM Fan Jam includes a profusion of entertainment, prizes and special giveaways only for attendees, including autographed guitars, trip packages to country music events and merchandise. The ACM Fan Jam continues after the Awards telecasts ends, with performances by Zac Brown and friends. Details will be announced soon. The inaugural ACM Fan Jam, hosted by Sugarland, took place in 2011.

On Monday, April 2nd, the Academy and dick clark productions will tape an all-star concert special, ACM PRESENTS: Lionel Richie and Friends In Concert, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena to air at a later date on the CBS. This country collaboration with the legendary Lionel Richie, featuring duets from his upcoming album Tuskeegee along with solo performances, will include some of Richie’s greatest hits performed by Jason Aldean, The Band Perry, Kenny Chesney, Lady Antebellum, Martina McBride, Rascal Flatts, Kenny Rogers and many more.
